About us

My name is Ellen Eeftens, and as you've probably guessed I'm a real animal lover, and in particular a Japanese Chin enthusiast. I mean, what is not to love about these little furry creatures..... All dogs (and animals for that matter) have their charmes, but as with most people one breed really stole my heart.....and that's the Chin.

My uncle, Aunt, Mom, Dad....and me

Up till a while ago I lived in Nijmegen, where I spend most of my college-years; together with my two first Chins, Yuzu and Kenny. I've been honoured with a BA degree in American Studies, and am currently working towards my MA.

Me and my sister, New York, 2003

Our love for dogs, and over the last years, our love for Japanese Chins, made my parents decide to start up their own kennel, Shimo Japanese Chins. It didn't take long for me to get totally hooked on this breed as well, so I deceided to apply for my own kennel name: Moony's Faith.

Both me and my parents keep our dogs in our home, so they're basically always with us.

The health of our Chins is very important to us, so they are checked regularly. We take them to our vet, but if something's up we take them to a specialist in Sleeuwijk, dr Strikker (link on link-page).

Every now and then we have a litter of pups, something we enjoy very much. Seeing those little rascals grow up is something beautiful, and it is hard every time we have to let one go.....but knowing they'll go to a good home makes it better. That's why we insist people visit us and the pups several times so we can really get to know each other.

Breeding in a good manner is very important to us, so we breed according to the rules of  the Dutch Pekingees- en Dwergspaniel Club and the Dutch Kennel Club (Raad van Beheer). Our dogs are registered in the Health Database of the Pekingees en Dwergspanielclub. We are members of:

      Pekingees en Dwergspaniel Club

The Belgische Club der Akita's en aanverwante

The Internationalen Club e.V. fur Japan-Chin, Peking-
